For sheer fishing variety and perpetual frenzied action, you can't go past the many reefs systems off the South Australian Coast. Steve Hunt has the story. South Australia really is blessed when it comes to fishing the deep offshore reefs for a huge variety of quality table fish. Add to the marine equation a host of drag squealing pelagics such as bulldozing Samson fish, hoodlum kingfish, enigmatic mako sharks and of course the ballistic bluefin tuna and you have a veritable smorgasbord of piscatorial delights out there. But the best news of all is the fact that a lot of these productive reef systems are within easy reach for the owners of a decent sized trailer boat. The western coast of the Eyre Peninsula is the place to make it all happen. The cobalt blue waters from Port Lincoln to Fowlers Bay in the west hold a minefield of lightly fished reef systems that simply teem with fish.
