Garmin FF140 Fishfinder

Garmin have released a new dedicated shallower water fishfinder, the FF140. Andy Galwey puts it through its paces. Garmin has a large range of dedicated fishfinders, some five units in all covering every aspect or requirement you could conceive of. The Garmin Fishfinder FF140 is the latest release in this lineup and dedicated to shallower water operation with an output power of 100W RMS (800 peak to peak) and a display four level gray scale FSTN 4.7in (12cm) screen. The unit is ideally suited for usein Australia's freshwater resources as well as the many estuary systems found round our magnificent coastline. At a pinch it could possibly be used for close offshore sorties, however it is not designed for this purpose. This is a dual-beam transducer with user selectable narrow (14 degree) or wide (45 degree) view and as such ideal for shallow water use.
