"Have Your Say on the Compulsory Wearing of Lifejackets." That's the title of a new national discussion paper being circulated by the National Marine Safety Committee NMSC this summer. This is the same group that was responsible for the new AustralianBuilding plate and they're trying to achieve a similar 'National' policy on life jackets. Of course, the problem is that some state governments have jumped the gun as it were and introduced compulsory life jacket wearing. About 10 years ago all states had virtually the same rules on life jackets, you had to carry them for each person aboard and put them at your own discretion.
