In this issue of Surface Coatings Australia, we showcase the latest segment of Adrian Thomas' continuing series of articles on "Adhesion in the Coatings Industry". This follows on from part 1 which appeared in the April 2011 Issue and part 2 which appeared in our June 2011 Issue. Part 3 covers surface or substrate evaluation techniques, and provides a further substantial review of the available methods through a comprehensive literature search of this important topic. When combined with the two previously published articles and such further sections as Adrian might be persuaded to prepare, it will certainly build into a series of articles worthy of preservation as a comprehensive study of Adhesion theory.
