Nearly 100 tractors were on display at what has become one of the most popular vintage vehicle shows north of the Border. Held in the stunning grounds of Glamis Castle in Angus, the 34th Scottish Transport Extravaganza is one of the highlights of the summer season.. Glamis is the historic seat of the Bowes Lyon family and was the childhood home of the late Queen Mother. The current Earl of Strathmore can trace his lineage all the way back to King Robert the Bruce, and the castle is one of the most famous stately homes in the UK. The battlements are thought to be the setting for Shakespeare's play Macbeth and are also famous for their resident ghosts. The estate is also a working farm, covering 14,000 acres mostly given over to cereal crops. It includes a sawmill, as well as 1,500 acres of commercial and recreational forest.
