KRONOS: Heading for Worst Ever Post-Tax Loss, Versus Best Ever Profit Four Years Ago

For January/September 2015, Kronos Worldwide (headquartered in Dallas, TX) reported a post-tax loss of $US 153.2 million on sales revenues of $US 1.062 billion. That compares against a net post-tax profit of $US 79.3 million on $US 1.278 billion. It looks as though the company is heading for its worst annual post-tax loss in its history. Only four years ago, Kronos declared the best annual post-tax profit in its history -$US 321.0 million for 2011, followed by another very good year in 2012 ($US 218.5 million), before declaring a heavy loss in 2013 (minus $US 102.0 million) and then a healthy rebound in 2014 ($US 99.2 million).
