Use of an acrylic external fixator with an intramedullary tie-in pin for the treatment of tibial fractures in 85 dogs.

This study describes the use of an acrylic external fixator and intramedullary tie-in pin to treat 85 cases of tibial fracture in dogs in the Irish Republic. All cases were succesfully resolved, with full healing and no complications. This is a reliable and versatile surgical technique for fracture fixation in dogs.
