The Federal'Trade'Commission has updated its "What People Are Asking" web page to provide clarification on parties' responsibilities when it comes to endorsements and testimonials in advertising, addressing disclosures made on Twitter, in uploaded videos and in the context of social-media "likes," among other issues. In a May 29 blog post, FTC Senior Attorney Lesley Fair notes that five years have passed since the agency revised its Guides Concerning Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising - "a lifetime in blog years" - and while the legal fundamentals haven't changed, stakeholders' questions have.
