The Advertising Standards Authority advises L'Oreal to discontinue a pair of magazine ads due to suspicions that images reflect digital retouching more than the merits of the advertised products. The ads were brought to the industry-funded watchdog's attention by Scottish Liberal Democrat MP Jo Swinson, cofounder of the Campaign for Body Confidence, who has worked to raise awareness of the negative effects of idealized media images on public health.
