The Soil Association's transport statement marks an important step forward and should be welcomed by all those favouring the re-establishment of much shorter and more localised supply routes for farm and market garden produce. It also places the SoilAssociation at the forefront of groups developing a deeper awareness of the interconnection inherent in social, agricultural and environmental issues.
