The most frequent request for organic gardening advice so far has been for dealing with slugs and snails. These seem to be reckoned the pests most often causing damage, but whether they actually cause the most losses is dubious-I think we lose more in total to the birds. And before rushing out to slaughter all your slugs and snails bear in mind that we must have some left to feed the thrushes and songbirds.
