FARMING'S HIDDEN COSTS EXPOSED

The tiue costs of industrial agricultural practices will be discovered for the first time when the results of the Soil Association's major new project are revealed. 'Counting the Costs of Industrial Agriculture' aims to quantify the cost to society ofthe damage incurred by half a centrry of intensive farming, exposing the many hidden factors as well as the direct financial consequences. The project was launched on the same day as HRH The Prince of Wales delivered the Lady Eve Balfour Memorial Lecture, a major speech on food, farming and the environment.
