Cats in the doghouse

A common gardening complaint concerns cats and their habits. Their destruction of birds, their dunging and their sunbathing on the seed bed makes them detested - as dots their moonlight serenading? However, as one of the world's worst singers myself,I can only commiserate with them over the latter. It is the cat's nature to kill and eat birds and other small moving things. We should not condemn them for that but endeavour to train them out of the behaviour. Loathe the sin but love the sinner. It isnot-difficult. I have four cats and they have always been allowed, indeed encouraged, to kill rodents and moles but were punished when they caught birds. They soon understood and are now trustworthy, even guarding baby chicks!
