Korean steelmakers are moving to build their 'green partnership.' It is to cope with the imposition of duty on them to reduce the emission of greenhouse gas on a full scale in 2013 under the Kyoto Protocol, the tightened international regulations on environments in the U.S. and Europe, the expansion in the use of new and renewable energy to overcome the exhaustion of resources and the environmental changes of steel industry for the development of clean steelmaking technologies.
