Making the lunar New Year's holidays a stepping stone, domestic market has become brisk. Even prior to the New Year's holidays, which had been regarded as the most critical period, demand was relatively robust in the domestic market, which made the reinforcing bar makers swell their hope to the utmost in expectation of a business recovery in February. With a daily shipment volume of more than 25,000 tons on average with the maximum of 33,000 tons last week, the industry observers said the reinforcing bar makers had gotten through the critical period without much difficulty. Local makers of reinforcing bars, who saw daily shipments plunge severely to the level below 20,000 tons at the beginning of this year, are giving a sigh of relief as demand for the bars began to pick up again in the middle of this month.
