As beers contained in PET bottles are likely to come into the domestic market within this year if every thing goes well, tin plate sector is carefully watching the development. According to the industry sources, Oriental Brewery Co. has decided to produce beers contained in PET bottles instead of glass bottles and is currently studying the related technical matters together with other firms at home and abroad. Steel cans as well as aluminum cans are currently finding a place as major materials for beer cans. According to the sector, the total market size of metal cans for beer exceeds about 700 million cans. Of this, aluminum cans accounts for most part, but steel beer cans also have topped 50 million cans and on the way to expanding to 100 million cans.
