Shipbuilders' Price Negotiation for Chinese Plates Likely to Be Settled at U.S.$610-620 per Ton

Korean shipbuilders' price negotiation with Chinese steelmakers to import plates from China in the second quarter of the year has entered the final round of the talks. Chinese plate makers have suggested their offers at about U.S.$630 per ton (FOB), but Korea shipbuilders and Chinese steelmakers are expected to ink their actual contracts at the prices in a range of U.S.$610-630 per ton.
