Bona fide or non-bona fide?

In a recently published article in this journal, Spielmans et al. (2011) reported the results of their meta-analysis of trials which directly compared psychotherapy to second-generation antidepressants (SGAs). In this meta-analysis, the authors also examined the quality of psychotherapy or medication delivery. They made a distinction between bona fide psychother-apies and non-bona fide therapies. An important result of their study was that the bona fide psychotherapies had an at least equivalent efficacy as the SGAs.
