Chromenone Derivatives from Processed Roots of Polygonum multiflorum

Polygonumoside E (1), a new chromenone derivative, was isolated from processed roots of Polygonum multiflorum along with three known compounds, 2,5-dimethyl-7-hydroxychromenone (2), 2-(2-hydroxylpropyl)-5-methylchromenone-7-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (3), and trycin-7-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (4). Their structures were elucidated by the extensive use of 1D and 2D NMR experiments, together with HR-ESI-MS spectra. Compounds 2-4 were reported from roots of P. multiflorum for the first time.
