To the Editor: We are grateful to Sangiiesa-Nebot et al [1], authors of "Revision Hip Arthroplasty With a Short Femoral Component in Fractured Hydroxyapatite Fully Coated Femoral Stem," for sharing their innovative technique of revising a failed femoral prosthesis with an embedded distal stem by using a short metaphyseal-fit prosthesis. The authors described various methods for resolving such difficulties while revising a femoral component. We consider this technique to be a good option when the patient's medical condition does not permit prolonged surgical procedures, but when there is no such limitation, the definitive procedure must be sought. Usually, this is to remove the distal broken implant and revise it with, preferably, a longer stem.
