摘要

I've been growing vegetables hydroponically for over 20 years. I first started experimenting in high school, then skipped quite a few years after I moved from Massachusetts to California. Where I grew up in Massachusetts we always had a vegetable garden in the side yard. In high school I studied biology and chemistry, and that got me interested in the mysteries of converting chemicals into tomatoes. I built a rudimentary hydro-ponic garden out of an old aquarium. After studying electronics and physics at MIT, I moved to California. It was back to dirt gardening for a few years, and I forgot about hydroponics. The taste and smell of home-grown tomatoes is a treat I came to appreciate more and more over the years, especially during the off-season, when I was forced to eat tasteless tomatoes from the produce department of my local super market.
