In subjects at risk for anaphylaxis, the key to survival is prompt administration of self-injectable epinephrine as first aid treatment. Simons et al1 recently reported a high rate of unintentional injections, with many into the digits or hand, presumably explained by poor technique of administration. As a consequence, they demanded increased vigilance focused on training the trainers, as well as the patients and caregivers.
