A study was conducted to evaluate the performance of 5 non-parametric stability measures using pearl millet (Pennisetum typhoides [P. glaucum]) yield data obtained from trials in 9 Indian environments (Jodhpur, Fatehpur Shekhawati, Kothara, Jam Nagar, Maduri kund, Bijapur, Palem, Hyderabad and Gwalior). The non-parametric procedures are used in detecting genotype-environment interaction and assessing the stability of individual genotypes. Parametric analysis showed the presence of genotype-environment interaction. No difference in yield stability was observed among the 37 genotypes studied. Ranking of different genotypes based on the values of different yield stability measures showed that the hybrids MH384, MH536, MH544, MH545, MH551, and VBH4 excel in both yield and stability. The values of rank correlation among different stability measures are presented.
