摘要

An experiment was conducted in Madhya Pradesh, India, during the rainy seasons of 2002-05 to study the genetic nature of awn structure in rice. The genetic segregation patterns for awning were observed in 4 generations (parental, and F< sub>1, F< sub>2 and F< sub>3 generations) crosses of Jawahar New Plant Type (JNPT): JNPT 63-01 x Pusa Basmati 1 and JNPT 89 x Pusa Basmati 1. The results showed that the awn character in Pusa Basmati 1 was governed by a dominant gene.
