Slope Stability Issues in Godavary Valley Coalfields - Case Studies

摘要

This paper presents geomining details of some of the opencast mines along with slope stability issues in SCCL mines belonging to Godavari valley coalfields. Research and Development department and Exploration department of SCCL took initiative in conducting meticulous studies on slope stability issues of three mines; namely SRP, GK, and KTK mines. Some of the slope failures experienced is also illustrated. Sometimes the bench failures also required redesign of the benches for improving stability of the slopes under the guidance of scientific and academic institutions.
