摘要

This paper presents the development of amathematical model for solving the air flow distributionproblems in mine ventilation networks. The formulation of thismodel is based on linearized flow equations in terms of nodalpressures and it uses simplified iterative technique fordetermining the branch flow rates. Three separate fan modelshave been developed and any one of them can be sued fornetwork solution. The condition required for accelerating theconvergence of this algorithm has also been investigated. Thenetwork model, coupled with each of the fan models at a time hasbeen verified in field conditions and also has been compared withWang's network program. The correlation is excellent. Finally itmay be stated that the proposed model is simple and eliminatescomplex mesh and tree selection algorithm. It may be suggestedto use the same instead of hardy cross iterative technique forsolving non-linear flow equations. It simplifies the programmingeffort for parallel branches and enhances computationalefficiency by taking the advantage of scarcity and banded natureof matrix involved in the analysis.
