Sasol claims solution to Oryx fine materials problem at GTL plant

SOUTH African energy group Sasol says it can reduce the levels of fine material byproducts being produced at the new Oryx gas-to-liquids(GTL)plant in Qatar,at a cost of 50m.Production at Oxyx began in January 2007,but in May the company admitted to experiencing complications as a result of higher-than-anticipated-Levels of fine materials being produced when converting natural gasses into liquid via the Fischer-Tropsch process.That fine material began to choke the plant's filters,which prevented the plant from reaching peak production levels.
