In order to cope with the increase in communication demand due to the phenomenal growth of the Internet connecting the entire world, it is considered an urgent task to realize large-capacity, light-wave communication of the tera-bit class extending over international distances. For the realization of large-capacity communication, the so-called wavelength multiplexing technology is used either to increase the transmission capacity per wave or to increase the number of multiplexed wavelengths.
