Successful strategy to prepare additional steel production capacity by US steel industry

U.S. Steel Industry appealed U.S. Department of Commerce and U.S. International Trade Commission that Japanese steel industry practiced damping on 11 products at the Japanese export of steel to the U.S. market from 1997. The U.S. ITC condemned that Japanese steel industry practiced damping to damage U.S. steel industry (Table 1). The U.S.A. consumes 130 million tons a year and import a little less than 40 million tons from overseas countries. European steel makers are exporting some 30 million tons/y of steel to the U.S.A. and Japanese steel makers 2.50-3.0 million tons a year, while U.S. steel maker produced 800 million tons(Figure 1).
