Jointly with Honorary Prof. Shirakawa and Instructor Kijima, Tsukuba University, Fujitsu Laboratories, Ltd. developed a conductive polymer LED device expected as a future light-emitting type of display using a polymer material and verified its light emission with high intensity by the trial test. The liquid crystal display is indispensable for information equipment. In addition, a light-emitting type of display is expected as the new possibility of a display with high intensity corresponding to moving pictures, which uses an organic material and is not dependent on the angle of the field of view. In recent years it has been confirmed that LED devices using organic materials emit light with high intensity at a low voltage and that they are paid attention to as the materials for a new light-emitting display. In particular, some of the displays using a low molecular organic compound have begun being put to practical use.
