Born in Brisbane, Judi was one of seven children raised by May and George Calvert. Judi married Stephen Ohl in 1973 and the pair moved frequently for Stephen's work. Their first child, Rachel, was born in Singapore in 1977; Timothy and Katie were born in Texas (US) in 1979 and 1981 respectively; and Lucy was born in Brisbane in 1985. The family also lived in Indonesia, South Korea, Melbourne, Moonie, Canberra, Sydney and Perth before settling on the Sunshine Coast in 2012.
