Westlake likely to raise Axiall bid, says Cowan and Co.

Cowen and Company analyst Charles Neivert has raised his rating of Axiall stock to Outperform in the expectation that Westlake will raise its bid for the company to $25/share or more. “We believe levels above $25 would still provide accretion for Westlake shareholders,” Neivert says in a research note issued on 10 March. “In addition, it is possible that Axiall, excluding its building products business, could bring additional bidder interest due to its pure play status.”
