MOST OF OUR GOOD, QUALITY PLEASURE HORSES ARE NOT only athletic, but they're smart as well. Learning all-around events is something they — and their riders — can enjoy and benefit from.I have a nice pleasure horse that I started in trail because he just needed something else to think about. It has taken us almost a year to add trail to him, just taking our time. He is a good loper and jogger, but he's just 15 hands and almost has to leap through the poles to make the strides. He does it very much under control with his ears up. He's very happy, and he can negotiate any obstacle you can throw at him.That's what I want. I don't put a timeline on a horse, and I don't cram him into it. I want these classes to be a place to have fun.
