With engines and electronic engine controllers becoming increasingly complex, Cummins Inc, based in Indiana, USA, needed to develop new techniques to test and validate the control strategies over a wide range of real-world operating scenarios. The outcome was Cyber Apps, or virtual applications, a simulation system for modeling various engine applications and executing them in pure simulation HILs.
