When Audi and Ford bosses arrived at Cosworth's Northampton, UK, HQ in 1998, they split the famous consultancy into two parts, each aimed at very different markets: Audi's Cosworth Technology' was to continue the auto consultancy work, while Ford wanting to focus on developing its motorsport powertrains - created 'Cosworth Racing'.
