A half century of publication on the frontiers of Canadian surgery.

摘要

The Canadian Journal of Surgery (CJS) carries the mission "to contribute to the effective continuing medical education of Canadian surgical specialists using innovative techniques when feasible and to provide surgeons with an effective vehicle for the dissemination of observations in the areas of clinical and bask science research." It is timely that we reflect on this noble mission, considering the inexorable change in the environment of modern surgery, and whether this mission has been achieved and is sustainable.
