On 8th December Itochu Corp. announced to buy out 15 percent interest in Maules Creek project in New South Wales for an amount of Australian Dollars 345 million from Aston Resources Ltd. of Australia. As a result Itochu Corp. acquires exclusive sales tight to Japan of coal produced at the project as well as priority sales right to other countries. From now Aston and Itochu promote Maules Creek project by forming a joint venture (JV). As reported before, on 9th August Itochu bought out approximately 2.75 percent shares of Aston and acquired exclusive negotiations right for 120 days over equity acquisition of Maules Creek project.
