Energy Resources LLC launched coal production at new metallurgical coal mine Ukhaa Khudag (UHG) coal mine in Mongol in April. UHG is opencut coal mine at the district of Ovoot Tolgoi in South Gobi where raw coal production reached approximately 1,800,000 MT in 2009. Coal produced at the mine is now exported to China without washing. The distance from the mine to the border line with China extends for approximately 200 km.
