Major Thermal Coal Projects In South Africa (Part 2) Vlakplaats Project

The Vlakplaats project is to develop the Vlakplaats undeveloped mining lot in Delmas district of Mpumalanga Province located 80 km north of Johannesburg, and to supply thermal coal produced at that mining lot to the domestic market of South Africa and the overseas market. The mining lot to be developed of that project is adjacent to the Vlakvarkfontein coal mine which Continental Coal of Australia is operating.
