The surgical management of lateral ventricular tumors requires careful ascertainment of indications for surgery, deliberate selection of an optimal surgical approach, and meticulous attention to detail throughout the procedure. Interactive image-guided techniques provide better preoperative image display for planning and increase the safety and efficacy of resection by continuously updated positional information. Judicious use of these systems may improve clinical outcome.
