Pasteurella is an uncommon cause of peritonitis in peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients. Of the reported cases (1-7), most have been caused by P. muttocida (1-4); 3 were caused by other strains: P. dagmatis (5), P. pneumotropica (6), and P. aerogenes (7). We present the first report of peritonitis caused by P. conis in a PD patient. A 65-year-old Caucasian man who had been on continuous cycling PD (CCPD) for 5 years was admitted to our hospital with a history of diffuse abdominal pain, diarrhea, and nausea without fever accompanied by cloudy peritoneal effluent of 8 hours'duration.
