Construction of a 80 kt/a Styrene Unit at Blue Star Daqing Branch Company

摘要

The construction of a 80 kt/a styrene unit was kicked off in July 2007 at the Blue Star Daqing Branch Company. This project will adopt the third generation process for manufacture of ethyl benzene via catalytic alkylation of benzene with dry gas developed by the CAS Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics and the process for manufacture of styrene via de-hydrogenation of ethyl benzene jointly developed by the SINOPEC Shanghai Petrochemical Research Institute, the East China University of Science and Technology and the Shang- hai Pharmaceutical Design Institute, while using the ethyl-ene-rich dry gas, which is a byproduct produced by the DCC unit at this company, as the feedstock.
