摘要

Sand cooling is of major significance in mechanising and automating the process of casting in sand moulds fabricated using a synthetic sand with bentonite. Sand whose temperature exceeds 15°C above the ambient temperature must be cooled. The most effective method of cooling is a continuous process consisting in blowing air through moistened moulding sand. Temperature changes, both of the air and the moulding sand, resulting from this process depend on the relative temperature difference between the cooled moulding sand and the air as well as their initial humidities. Methods of implementing moulding sand cooling and solutions for coolers have been discussed in many publications [1-7].
