Geological sciences on the threshold of the third millenium

After a period of intense theoretical development the geological sciences constantly focused to practical problems of varied fields of human activities, e.g. environmental studies, hydro geology, civil engineering, agriculture, military, geology of crime, useful exploitation of resources. It is necessary for this orientation to adjust first of all the training on the schools and universities and the structure of geological survey.
