First Quality Tissue - the eighth largest tissue paper producer in North America - announced up to 8% price increases for its consumer/retail tissue towel and tissue paper products, in the first move by a North American producer for a consumer/retail increase in three years. The increase is effective on orders placed after July 1, and orders shipped "on or after Aug. 1 will be invoiced at the increased prices," the company said on June 2.
