摘要

Three Nippon Paper Group mills with total pulp and paper capacity of nearly 1.37 million tonnes/yr resumed production this week after being shut by a powerful Apr. 7 aftershock near the epicenter of Japan's monster earthquake and tsunami on Mar. 11. The company's Kitakami paper mill and Daishowa paperboard mill restarted on Apr. 9 and 10 after being closed by power interruptions. Kitakami's capacity is 15,000 tonnes/yr of newsprint and 120,000 tonnes/yr of linerboard, and Daishowa's is 100,000 tonnes/yr of market pulp, 170,000 tonnes/yr of coated freesheet, and 400,000 tonnes/yr of kraft linerboard. Both mills had restarted within two weeks of the 9.0 quake in March.
