For the 12th consecutive quarter,the stubbornly strong Canadian dollar eroded profitability of major Canadian producers in the third quarter,and especially those with exposure to newsprint and groundwood specialties,and lumber and engineered wood products.Higher prices for selected pulp and paper products,most noticeably northern bleached softwood kraft (NBSK) market pulp,failed to offset higher energy and fiber costs for the Canadian pulp,paper,and forest product companies.
