Weyerhaeuser, North America's largest collector and consumer of recovered paper for making paper and board, continued growing its recovered paper use for at least the 14th straight year in 2006 while also working on developing further export business.Since 1992, Weyerhaeuser's collection of recovered paper increased by 5.1% and by an annual average of almost 22%.With 19 recycling plants in 16 US states, Weyerhaeuser last year collected almost 6.83 million tons (up 1.3% vs. 2005 collection), sold 2.875 million tons on the open market (up 5.4%), and consumed 3.954 million tons in its own mill system (down 1.5%).
