Stora Enso orders giant PM

Stora Enso has chosen Metso Paper to supply a large new supercalendered (SC)paper machine for its Kvarnsveden mill in Sweden.The price tag on the order,the largest in Metso's history,was not revealed.PM 12 will have a capacity of 420,000 tonnes/yr of SC-A and SC-A+ paper.The machine will be the world's widest PM with a wire width of 11.3 m.Swedish firm,Skanska,is currently constructing the building that will house the new unit.The work is due to be completed early next year.The SC machine is slated to startup in mid-November 2005.
