Veitsiluoto gets an A4 improvement

Integrated with the PM 3 rebuild was the installation of the new folio sheeter and associated equipment.The mill's converting plant started out with its first folio sheeter in 1981,adding a second in 1985.Also in 1985,Veitsiluoto installed a folio ream wrapper and its first cut size sheeter (No.3).The mill added cut-size sheeters in 1991,1994 and 1995 (This replaced the No.3 cut-size sheeter.).In 1999,the folio sheeting operations were shut down.In 2001,an efficiency box packaging line was installed.The paper is packed into the box and no ream wrapping is needed.Now,the newest cut-size sheeter.No.6,is up and running.The No.6 sheeter has a design capacity of 120,000 tonnes/yr,accounting,for almost one-third of the plant's 370,000 tonne/yr capacity.It is an ECH Will 10 pocket,six double unwind back-stands (100 m/min splicing speed)Model SLK 216.10T sheeter that can operate at a speed of 370 m/min (150 reams/min).Its maximum working width is 2,16 m.As part of the project,a new roll unwrapping line was also installed.Rolls are then brought to the sheeters by automatic guided vehicles (AGV).Each sheeter has two packaging lines except for the efficiency box line,which has three.The newest packaging line is a Pemco39 S-R ream wrapper that can wrap 125 reams/min.All the new wrappers are servo driven so there are no more mechanical drives.Also installed as part of the project were a MAK Tekniikka palletizer,Lachenmeier shrink palletizer and an ABB robot for label application.There was no need to extend the building as the new sheeter and wrapping line went in the space that used to be occupied by the folio sheeting lines.
